MTO's Success with KRAH Pipes in Cayuga

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation recently embarked on a project in Cayuga that demanded a unique solution due to lower cover requirements and the need for long-lasting results.

To ensure the longevity of the installation while meeting lower cover requirements, the MTO sought a closed-profile watertight pipe solution.  This choice of pipe was not made lightly but was the result of careful consideration and collaboration between Devron, GIP, and Montague Construction. The objective was clear: to deliver a product that not only met the required standards but also adhered to tight timelines.

KRAH pipes have been making waves in the world of civil engineering for their innovative design and exceptional performance. Here are some of the key reasons why they were the perfect fit for the MTO's Cayuga project:

Closed Profile: The closed-profile design of KRAH pipes ensures additional durability, preventing leaks and ensuring the integrity of the culvert system. This feature was crucial given the project's focus on lower cover requirements.

HDPE Material: High-Density Polyethylene is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. KRAH pipes made from HDPE are built to withstand the

test of time, ensuring the longevity of the culvert system.

Dual Gasketed: The inclusion of dual gaskets further enhances the watertight properties of KRAH pipes. This additional layer of protection minimizes the risk of leakage and scouring.

We are very proud of this project and look forward to future successes with the KRAH pipe in similar projects to come!
